Nice people; great mission and history. Most positions are rewarding as you get to work with very special population...providing programs, services.
Cons
Upper management and fundraising, especially events, needs overhaul to bring in new ideas. Need to have a higher presence in communities served; better public and community relations is needed.

Pros
The mission and work put in by employees are great! The work environment is pleasant (depending on where you are working), and my coworkers were easy to work with. Good as a first job, if this is the field you are intending to go into.
Cons
Pay is low, but wages will be going up to $20.00. Over the past two weeks, we have received emails from higher-ups letting us know that 3 people have "left" AbilityFirst. It seems they are downsizing, and budget problems are still an issue. Favoritism exists in every department and center, which has led to high turnover and many internal issues that are rarely addressed.. Supervisors, managers, and directors all lack training in any general areas. No room for moving up within the company. Many people have stayed in their positions for years.
