Pros
Interesting variety of work. Stimulating and engaging environment with value placed on learning and development. Staff are respected as individuals, listened to, and are supported to develop in the direction they want (and develop the company direction too if they want). Impressive breadth and depth of expertise among colleagues, who are always willing to share what they're working on, pass on knowledge and support the rest of the team. Friendly and suppportive management team who communicate well with employees. Great culture. Workload is well managed. Lunch, fruit and refreshments provided by company, including bean-to-cup coffee.
Cons
Being in the consultancy industry, workload can sometimes vary a lot - sometimes quite high pressure, and sometimes there are lulls. Not in a big city, which might be less attractive for some, but St Ives is a nice village with fairly good transport links for driving/bus/cycling (company has showers for people cycling/running to work etc). Not as big as some similar consultancies, which might be a downside for some people, but it means the culture is friendly and supportive. Personally I like the size (~50). Pay is 'competitive', but not brilliant given the calibre of employees that are recruited - but there is a general acknowledgement across staff that we aren't here because of the pay, we stay because it's a great company and interesting work.
