Firstly the management, they do not support you, train you, help you when you ask for it, and to be honest all they do is attend meetings and respond to emails, eventually.. This organisation has a complete lack of leadership and engagement from the senior management team. Being open and honest and adhering to the company values should be a minimum requirement for all staff, especially leaders, this is not the case
Support, well you don't get any. If you are struggling, you will not be put on a performance improvement plan, they will just remove you from the company. You may watch the CEO's vlogs were he says a staff member can be trained, that is true however they will not give you the time of day to be trained properly. This once again comes down to the level of management and leadership within the organisation, I almost pity the managers because they have been set up to fail by the CEO. With a lack of training for them, and a lack of people skills and managerial expertise, how can we as employees expect a consistent and quality level of management.
You are made to feel inadequate at every opportunity, you are encouraged to share your ideas, but god forbid it’s something that the CEO doesn’t like, he will belittle you and make you feel so small you will not want to express yourself again.
To conclude, the organisation is riddled with poor practice, gimmicks and a complete lack of leadership. It is extremely disappointing because the organisation has so much potential. But when they review their attrition rates along with real staff morale, they will understand that free soda, a pool table and a slide don't actually make you "love what you do", it is the support, mentorship and adherence to key organisational values that allow you to love what you do. An organisation that encourages development and enthusiasm is a great place to work, EKM certainly is not.
