Pros

The marketing team is great, always doing the most to make new members feel welcome and actively try to improve the lifestyle at the office (if you could call it an office)

Cons

Senior management is psychotic... The CEO would shout and borderline scream at staff until they cried and then demote/bully them for a long period after that. Team leaders or heads of departments micro-manage their teams with enough monitoring systems that they would know when you breathe. And then use that same system to through anything in your face to try and get team members removed from their duties if they try to stand up for themselves. The CEO should NOT I repeat NOT be sending drunk letters containing threats and a multitude of abuse to a team that stands up for themselves and their work. It is beyond unprofessional and I have heard & seen nothing but disgusting things regarding the current head of the company. I hope you like being on camera... as the customer services and teaching team have 38... YES, 38 CAMERA's on them at all times. Watching every screen (which they are already monitoring every input) and every member of staff from what I can only assume is multiple angles to get a perfect view to get off from. Privacy is so massively violated here that it's beyond anything I could have imagined. Read your contacts and job descriptions very carefully as everyone I spoke to had issues with their job descriptions and contractual obligations. The company twisted and bent them to get as much out of you as possible. And they will continue to do so until you speak up about it, at which point they will slap you with a grievance for having the audacity to speak up about their mistreatment of staff. They preach about how they care for their staff and staff welfare is vital to them. But won't allow staff to attend hospital appointments or emergencies as the time needs to be worked back and you can't be leaving the site during business hours due to safeguarding reasons. Everything is due to safeguarding reasons, even if your team never even interacts with sensitive data. I went into this job hoping for a fresh start and everything seemed great before starting. But I've never left the first day of employment and immediately started applying for new work. The way they treat staff with backstabbing, lying, manipulation, and downright bullying is incredible that team members stay there. Final point, if you think this place's reviews look good or that there are loads of good reviews, check their old company name of "EDLounge" as they had to change their name due to all the awful reviews about them and are still fighting and taking down reviews and replacing them with good ones written by HR and the senior management team. Just stay away from this company or any company associated with this one as you will be so much more mentally well off being far far away. There is more I could say but I'm wary of how much I've written already. But I hope you get the point.

EDClass Response

Thank you for your review. EDClass responds to all feedback. We welcome the opportunity to improve employee experiences as EDClass prioritises employee well-being and welfare. We are sad and shocked that anyone who has worked with us feels this way and we would have hoped that some of the issues that you have raised in this review could have been discussed in person, prior to your resignation. EDClass would like to take this opportunity to assure you, and anyone reading this review that some the information that has been written is factually inaccurate. EDClass would like to address some of the points that you have raised: - The Senior Management Team, including the CEO, absolutely refute any allegations that they are "psychotic" or "bullies" who "backstab, lie and manipulate" the team. The Senior Management Team are all highly qualified, passionate and experienced professionals who have created a positive and inclusive environment which is child-centred and has a clear focus, in our policies and procedures, on safeguarding and educating vulnerable children across the UK. - The monitoring of staff that you have mentioned is to safeguard everyone, especially the children we educate online. The cameras, screen recordings and MIS platform provide additional security and safety for all. - EDClass provides all staff with contracts of employment. Staff have the opportunity to read the contract, ask questions and clarify before they sign the contract. Any changes to contracts are only made with employees input and full agreement. We conduct weekly 1-1's which move on to monthly PTR's to give staff the opportunity to speak with their manager about any concerns that they have. - We appreciate that you have recognised that to EDClass, safeguarding the children that we look after is our priority and comes before anything else. - Team members are allowed to take time out for emergencies and appointments. - The comments made about EDLounge are totally inaccurate. EDLounge is a totally separate business to EDClass that focusses on different aspects of education. They are not the same business, they are 2 separate entities and EDLounge did not change to EDClass due to poor reviews. Again, we are sorry that you have left EDClass disgruntled and didn't take the opportunities available to you while you were working with us to air your views. We would have, and continue to, welcome the opportunity to communicate with the team for any concerns, rumours or problems as we have an open door policy and pride ourselves on our transparency with our employees. EDClass hopes that your perceived negative experience and subsequent inaccurate allegations do not hinder any of your future endeavours. The EDClass Senior Management Team would like to wish you all the best for the future. EDClass would like to suggest that if any potential employees want to discuss anything mentioned in this review, please contact us for an honest and open conversation.

Pros

Great team of passionate people Clear guidelines on what to expect and whether you are successful Regular meetings about developments in the business No work out of hours and a ring fenced lunchtime (something that I have never had in teaching) Opportunities to be creative, supportive and evaluative with a clear purpose Regular training provided 'Treats' to show appreciation for our work as well as saying 'Thank you' which is something new for me! Supporting learners who really need it so I feel like I am making a difference

Cons

It is less money than teaching BUT so much less stress and a better work life balance, make it worth it.

Pros

Having come to work at EDClass less than a year ago, I can honestly say it is the best decision I have made for myself in a long time. The team are fantastic, supportive and genuinely care about the learners as well as the staff that work here. I feel truly valued, given opportunities to grow and develop as well as part of a truly compassionate and positive team. I genuinely look forward to coming into work. Having come from mainstream education where the monitoring, accountability and indeed workload were unbearable and having a significant impact on my mental health, wellbeing and indeed work-life balance, working at EDClass has been a breath of fresh air. I encourage anyone who wants to remain in teaching, have a positive impact as well as be part of a truly friendly and caring team to come and visit. You will be made very welcome.

Cons

There is a large amount of computer based working, which may be an issue for some.
