      Company is in chaos

      Pros

      Postgres is a the best and most popular open-source database solution in the world. It is a huge market

      Cons

      - The executive management team has totally turned over within the last year. - Numerous layoffs - Sales leadership is toxic; "The beatings will continue until morale improves." - The company made a huge mistake by entering the Postgres cloud space, thinking they could compete with AWS, Microsoft, Google etc. They basically created a new business unit and hired alot of people. After about a year of dismal sales, they abandoned the project and fired everyone. Now, the CEO is embarked on another wild goose chase with AI

      Greed did it again

      Hard working people, Wellness Fridays, Learning opportunities

      Cons

      Marketing is horrible, Executive chain is horrible, titles that mean absolutely nothing, new CEO is laughable, more departmental silos than ever before, and morale is at an all time low. Everyone still employed (and formerly employed) knows that bringing in Bain Capital was a terrible idea. Decision was made as a result of Greed…nothing more. And every existing employee knows Bain will rip & replace, then sell off and/or package EDB elsewhere. It’s a matter of time. Shame on the former CEO for allowing this to happen. You’ve lost my respect entirely.

      Do Not Join a Sinking Ship

      Pros

      Its was great till the time of Ed. 20+ PTO Welness Friday every month Work from home since Covid Annual Bonus

      Cons

      The compnay is going for IPO and they moved Ed ex CEO. New CEO did a massive layoff in Sep 23. No respect for experienced employees. Very badly handled the layoff and termination contracts. The 4+ rating was older from Ed time. Now it is not more then 1 star company. Some news hires just trying to get CEO attention and when they failed, they just dump all it to older employees and also helped the new 1-2 year old management in kicking off the company historical resources. Not a good place to work anymore. Not a good company to buy in IPO.
