Pros

When I worked at DigitalCM it was a lot of fun with lots of opportunities for growth. This wasn’t going to be my career forever but I was able to take what I learned and applied it to future careers and projects.

Cons

Very dynamic and fast paced. Not for everyone. The business is changing constantly.

Pros

DigitalCM has one of the most supportive and compassionate leadership teams I’ve worked with. During a hurricane mentioned in some reviews, the CEO personally opened his home to employees whose houses were at risk. The company also provided remote work options for those with family or health concerns. Leadership frequently went above and beyond, continuing salaries for extended periods (sometimes years) even when some employees weren’t generating any revenue or meeting project timelines. Leadership has helped employees move, covered meals during difficult times, and allowed extra time off beyond standard vacation or sick leave. These actions were consistently documented and witnessed by many of us. Any claims suggesting otherwise do not reflect the experience of the majority of employees.

Cons

That same compassion has occasionally worked against the company. Leadership’s reluctance to make tough personnel decisions allowed some employees to remain on payroll long after it was clear their projects weren’t producing any results. This created frustration for those of us who were meeting goals and driving revenue. It’s disappointing to see a few recent negative reviews that appear to come from former employees who were released during restructuring efforts. While everyone’s experience is a matter of opinion, the negative reviews don’t reflect the reality most of us experienced while working here. The CEO tried to help everyone succeed by creating an “innovation incubator” where employees on overhead could develop and market new concepts. While the intent was good, not all participants took advantage of that opportunity. Meetings mentioned negatively in some reviews were discussions about accountability and performance expectations. The CEO emphasized that he was trying to preserve jobs by continuing to pay for programs not bringing any revenue to the company, something most companies would not have done under similar circumstances. No company is perfect, but DigitalCM’s leadership has shown a level of patience and empathy that’s rare in today’s workplace. Going forward, the company’s challenge is balancing compassion with accountability and continuing to focus on those committed to the mission.

A revolving door of talent wasted by toxic leadership

Pros

Great team camaraderie. Coworkers are supportive, collaborative, and genuinely talented. Hands-on learning opportunities across different areas of the business. Some managers (not at the executive level) were helpful and did their best to support staff, shielding teams from constant chaos. Exposure to different responsibilities due to the lack of structure (though mostly from necessity, not design). Valuable for building adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Cons

Leadership is volatile, defensive, and quick to misinterpret normal conversation as criticism. “Feedback” often takes the form of guilt trips or public shaming, which destroys morale. Work-life balance is nonexistent. 40-hour weeks are treated as laziness, while remote work is restricted or revoked on a whim. Priorities change weekly. Projects are started, abandoned, restarted, and rarely finished, with employees blamed for systemic failures. Demos and appearances take precedence over building functional products, leading to endless rework and mounting frustration. Despite being in operation for many years, very little has actually made it to market, a direct consequence of poor direction and micromanagement. Professionalism at the top is inconsistent at best; even executives aren’t spared from being undermined in front of staff.
