Pros
Owner does not pressure you to finish a job like other companies, only when it's a critical job, he's very helpful in various projects. Engineer department environment very friendly. Coworkers will help you a lot when you ask for help. despite the numerous design parameters, final design jobs are very professional. No "monkey business" related to truss design, nor with your paycheck or taxes.
Cons
Stingy with employee benefits (no 401k, no sick days, only medical insurance with high deductible) Sometimes they'll act weird when asked for a personal day. Some design parameters aren't standard, so you have to ask every time for confirmation, whereas in another company that simple detail will be standard in different jobs. Just one week of vacation AFTER 1 year of employment. Bonus is basically nothing ($25-$150 /year). Basic Salary is less than what others companies offer. No growth opportunity.
