      Job satisfaction is project dependent.

      Pros

You get to work on many different things with many different people. Some will be great, some will be horrendous. Nice office, great work environment. Datacom will empower you to try out different things. This is a GREAT environment for juniors to learn the ropes. Though it does come with downsides when Datacom lets juniors work on stuff out of their depth (which I will discuss in Cons). Pay can be good but you have to really push for it during the annual review. Else they will pay you bare minimum.

      Cons

Often you are sent out to the client's office to work on their projects. These can be hit or miss. I also had the displeasure of working in a large and rushed project managed by a junior Datacom colleague. I cannot blame them for this disaster project as they were set up to fail by higher up managers who have over promised clients. Over my time at Datacom it just feels like there has been a cultural shift away from caring about people and more caring about profits.

      Pros

Wide breadth of technologies. Good for graduates to develop. Good for career progression before mid-management. Makes a positive contribution to the NZ economy, connected with Te Reo Maori, gives back to the community through some good initiatives.

      Cons

Inconsistent processes for a long established organisation. Leadership are disconnected, especially the C-suite. Leadership still has an 'old boys club' feel.
