Pros

Most people seem to dislike the company

Cons

Dysfunctional communication: The company's communication is a mess, with rampant miscommunication and a general lack of transparency. Information is often lost or misinterpreted, leading to chaos and unnecessary stress for employees. Lack of transparency with service charges: Employees have raised concerns about the lack of transparency surrounding service charges Stifling professional development: The lack of investment in employee growth is appalling. The company offers little to no support for professional development, leaving employees feeling stagnant and undervalued. Cutthroat culture: The toxic, cutthroat atmosphere within the company is alarming. This competitive environment breeds hostility, backstabbing, and a general lack of trust among employees. Arbitrary bonus reductions: The company has a disconcerting practice of reducing bonuses without any clear or logical reasoning. This not only demotivates employees but also creates an atmosphere of distrust and resentment. Favouritism and cronyism: Employees who have personal connections or are perceived as being favoured by management often receive preferential treatment. Profit over employee wellbeing: A deeply concerning issue within the company is the prioritisation of profits over the wellbeing of its employees. Two-faced owner: Another troubling issue within the company is the behavior of the owner, who has demonstrated a tendency to be two-faced. This duplicity not only erodes trust between the employees and management but also contributes to a toxic work environment

Pros

You get free drinks on shift You get staff food- only egg and toast even if your on a 12 hour shift. You get a free gym membership with Nuffield in Paddington. You can take home pastries if they don’t sell.

Cons

They pay all the waitresses different rates, so you can get paid more or less for doing the same thing even if somebody started the job after you. As a waitress they make you clean up human poo off the walls, pee from the floor and sick from where customers get drunk off the bottomless brunch. Multiple Sexual harassment reports filed with from managers as a result of the male staff, nothing was done. The managers are extremely rude when speaking to the staff. Loads of Customers have consumed food that they are allergic to, after telling the restaurant their allergies and all the managers have done to rectify the situation is take the food off the tab. It was not wrote down in the accidents and emergency book even though they could have died. They send you on breaks an hour into your 12 hour shift saying it’s going to get busy so you have to take it. They cut permanent staffs hours, saying it was for business needs, then hired agency to make up for the lack of staff, who actually get paid a higher rate.

Pros

They paint a picture of flowers and sunshine that seems nice at the beginning.

Cons

The more you stick around and the more you find out the more disgusted you end up feeling with how unprofessional they are! Terrible management with what seems like no common sense and experience whatsoever! The owner is as greedy as it gets, taking the money the employees hardly work for doing everything outside of their work duties plus their regular responsibilities. Minimum wage goes up? Tronc goes down accordingly without a word from management or the owner. Over worked employees doing crazy hours for little money and appreciation over summer and then the same employees begging for hours during quiet winter periods. You can go from 50+ hours to 30 hours in one week if they need to save money. Being understaffed though is a constant that never changes. Want a holiday or a day off? 2 weeks notice! They need to change your schedule from today for tomorrow - it’s done with no heads up. They can’t pay their suppliers sometimes so employees end up dealing with it experiencing backlash from customers for something that they have no control over. If you’re on salary you always work overtime which is not paid. I can keep going on and on but I think my point gets across. Just avoid at all costs and don’t get sucked into the world of make believe they first present to you. None of it is true.
