Pros

If you are willing to learn, continuously, you will go far here. I came from a large organisation, so much thinking was done for me, I thought I was a software engineer, cause that was the role, but in actual fact I was just more of a mindless developer. Until you get the freedom, accountability and trust required like you do at Curve, you realise how much more you can learn being at a small, challenging company. I do think it is a sink or swim company, hence a lot of the bad reviews, seemingly by entry level roles. Those who join with experience, own opinions backed by real life experence, they do well here. I have seen many people climb the ladder at Curve, and I have seen people whine and moan and leave and frankly, these are often the one's that were not good enough and struggled to perform. You will be found out here, if you want to sit back, not learn and do the bare minimum, you will be found out. Working here benefits those who's work does the talking. Would I recommend working here, only if you back yourself.

Cons

Some decisions, like the removing of insurance, doesn't strike me as well thought out and I get the impression the other leadership members will protect each other, show a united front. The glassdoor score, I think there's been people who didn't quite live upto expectations and leave poor views of the reality of working at Curve, meaning more good hires are detered so then some of the not so good make it through and we end up in this cycle of those bad hires then leaving and leaving a bad review. If you filter by Job Function you will see a lot of departments are very happy at Curve. Pay is very good, and so is the annual leave, but the pension scheme is lacking and there's not a bonus scheme (though I would always choose a higher salary over a bonus scheme)

Pros

The Customer service team -The people. From agents to managers are the absolute salt of the earth. I worked at Curve in customer service for a couple of years in a few roles and I can honestly say that I have never known a more stalwart, dedicated, and resourceful group of people. At every level. While the Ceo and leadership team are seemingly determined to scupper CX at every turn, the team rise to the occassion and meet the challenge head on, time and time again. If anyone reading this is considering joining Curve as an employee, Don't. If anyone is considering hiring anyone from Curve CX; from agent to head of department, do. They thrive in culture, competency and commitment.

Cons

There is an unending list of cons with this company. With 4 years experience at a startup (How long can we keep calling it a startup) you get to know a few things and I'll share my learnings below. - You don't settle. Like you don't even have a choice. With concerning regularity Curve has a crisis every 6 months or so. Sometimes those are out of their control and sometimes they are of their own making. Curve seems to have stopped manufacturing payment cards and has started, instead, a lucrative business of manufacturing rods with which to strike your own back. - Decisions are always made top down, and are rarely customer centric. Nobody would deny that a bottom line is important, but surely there's a point at which you have to consider the customer...right? apparently not. And, when these changes are made the team that always always ALWAYS bears the brunt is CX. Even when the team works effectively and consistently and tickets are manageable, the leadership team are determined to shake it up, and, I'll tell you something, Curve has proven, beyond doubt, that when you try to fix a problem and it your methodology doesn't work, you should change tactic. Because Curve never has, and the problems have never gone away. - Unreasonable targets that have been decided on with zero analysis - 12 hour enforced shifts with 12 hours notice - No regular pay reviews - Regular structural shifts - No listening to feedback - Sticking plasters on gaping wounds - Belt tightening when you're already on the last notch - Forcing departments to do the work of other departments - Breached SLA's - Top down thinking - Broken systems - Flip-flopping commitments In the most recent development, agents told that they would not need to work a notice period if they decided to leave (After the most recent monumentally poor decision made by the leadership team) have now been told they must stay "a little longer" because there's no plan or off-boarding actually in place.

Pros

Anyone thats not in leadership are cool

Cons

Leadership has a lack of understanding, the culture is a mess, the lead are 95% from the U.S and needs to implement B.A.M.E and Senior Managers need to grow some balls and support there team. Yes men are not the way forward at all and that’s why the company going to go down or sold.

Pros

One of the significant advantages of working at our company is the supportive nature of the team members and management. I am fortunate to work with a manager who provides regular feedback which I embrace positively. This environment fosters my growth not only in technical skills crucial for a Site Reliability Engineer but also in interpersonal and leadership abilities. The collaborative and encouraging team culture continually helps me enhance my expertise and develop professionally.

Cons

Occasionally, team members can be very busy with their work, which may lead to situations where urgent support queries arise and are not addressed as promptly as needed. This can sometimes pose challenges in ensuring immediate resolutions.

Pros

The team you'll work with will all be lovely, but ultimately will always be struggling under the pressure applied by upper levels of management within the company

Cons

The company is lead by an arrogant, out-of-touch executive team who are driving the business and it's employees further into the dirt with every choice they make. Despite numerous issues with the app and as a result, customer happiness, the exec team focus on nothing but short-term gains in order to constantly patch up a product which is ever more resembling a leaky, sinking ship. At no point in the last 4 years has time given to the engineering teams to fix basic problems, as the leadership at Curve would much rather keep adding feature after unnecessary feature to a very shaky core-product. Due to this, increased unhappiness with Curve's customers is adding an increasing pressure on the customer support team who are swiftly running out of options and the tools to help as the backlog off app issues grows. Instead of recognising this however, the exec team resort to blaming anyone other than themselves for the issues within the company, preferring instead to utilise tactics of gaslighting and scare-mongering on the teams they lead. This has all come following the referral to the Customer Service team by the CEO as being "second class citizens" within the company on numerous occasions. While the CEO and COO remain in place, Curve's culture as a company will continue to be a growing shadow of what it once was and the metaphorical "ship" shall continue to fill with water as the litany of issues gets ever worse.

Pros

Fast-paced environment with lots of learning opportunities, especially in fintech. Some great colleagues—talented and driven people. Interesting product with innovative potential.

Cons

Work-life balance can be challenging, with expectations of long hours. Rapid changes in direction can make it hard to feel stable in your role. Management can be hit or miss—some supportive, others lacking leadership skills. Career progression is unclear, with limited transparency on growth opportunities.

Pros

Some good people. The initial idea of the product was attractive

Cons

Curve feels like a company in freefall. Senior leadership lacks strategic direction and treats employees as disposable. While the industry shifts to AI-driven solutions, Curve chooses to scale with people, not technology—an outdated and inefficient approach. Product development is directionless and erratic. Avoid.
