Layoffs disguised as firings

Pros

????? ????? ????? ????? ?????

Cons

Toxicity and an antiquated management style dwells at the top. Be ready to go to back to the office, because the CEO seems to think he can't hit his targets with a remote workforce. He tells the public that a rough quarter is due to macroeconomic forces beyond our control, while he gaslights employees by telling them it's their fault (for not working hard enough). Layoffs are being disguised as firings (of people with no history of poor performance), despite the impact that has on future prospects for employment for that person, leaving said employee with no severance, a undeserved stain on their reputation and their dignity. All in the name of greed and hubris.

Toxic old boys club

Pros

*The mission of OverWatch is unparalleled *Incredible access to data, intel, and threat actors *There are some absolutely wonderful and beyond intelligent people working at Crowdstrike (unfortunately, they are treated poorly, burned out, overworked, underpaid, and forced to comply or be left behind)

Cons

*Absolutely toxic senior leadership; no emotional IQ, no communication, immature "leadership" *The culture can best be described as: old boys club, bro, and/or a fraternity *Re-org after re-org with no clear direction beyond the bottom line *CAO (Counter Adversary Operations) makes absolutely no sense and is confusing internally and externally *Rolling layoffs with zero transparency and blatant lies (lies about why people were laid off, firings disguised as layoffs, false promises that "this is the last one") -- these layoffs deemed critical functions "redundant," which led to critical work being piled on top of burned out, understaffed, and underpaid folks left behind *No work/life balance - particularly in the Threat Hunting arm - follow the sun means nothing. All are expected to be available at all times and not fairly compensated for such commitment. *Lackluster benefits and 401k matching (not at all comparable to Crowdstrike's competitors) *Lackluster pay - most are severely underpaid compared to their peers in the industry

Pros

Feeling like you're in an industry that matters

Cons

Everything else--lack of internal controls and processes; profit-oriented rather than vision-oriented; focused only on sales and metrics rather than good work; toxic work environment; no work-life balance.
