Pros
Confluent could have been an amazing place - smart people, great product, strong pay. But what’s happening at Confluen is not about performance, it’s about poor leadership and HR dysfunction - reactive, defensive, and disconnected from what employees actually need. Employees are promised growth, stability, and a supportive culture, only to be blindsided by sudden layoffs and political decisions. I saw careers being derailed not because of lack of talent, but because of poor judgment and office politics and these HR enable them.
The HR team, especially in India, has no accountability or ownership. Their default reaction to feedback or questions is silence, deflection, or gaslighting. Instead of solving problems, they bury them and silence you as well. If you expect transparency, fairness, or a sense of security - you won’t find it here.
Cons
Compensation might attract you, but peace of mind won’t last long. Layoffs come out of nowhere, and those affected are left to deal with it in silence. Don’t let a good offer blind you to a broken system.
Join only if you’re ready to deal with chaos disguised as opportunity.
