Pros

People are what makes Codex really special. Everyone is really loveable and, as a result, the work environment is very pleasant. You can be sure you always find someone to steal a smile from you even on your worst day. I worked in the company for 2.5 years, as an intern and then as a permanent member. I changed team and line manager three times due to internal needs but the passage was always as smooth as possible, and when on the one occasion it wasn't, all parties involved worked on it until all was smooth again. When I joined the company, I had just finished university and though I knew some theoretical aspects, I had no hands-on experience whatsoever or the slightest idea of how the industry works on a large scale. After 2.5 years, I can confidently say that almost all I know and use everyday in my work is thanks to Codex and their excellent training system. I would also like to underline that my decision to leave the company was not based on the ways work is conducted at Codex. It was a personal choice related to a change in the type of work and my ideal professional profile. If I ever changed my mind, I would not hesitate to go back to Codex 100%!

Cons

Workload can be burdening, and Upper Management needs time to get the grasp of what actually goes wrong before actively acting on it. Unpaid overtime is certainly not fair, but let's be realistic, it's not the only UK company that does that! There seems to be a couple of "favourite" colleagues who get more rounds of applause than others despite working not so hard as others, but yet again every workplace has that!

Pros

most people are friendly, to your face anyway.. they offer good training on the industry.

Cons

the workload is massive, they don't have enough financial resources to hire more people so they exploit everyone who they can afford to pay. if you're in the "cool people circle" then you're ok. You can get away with not working and being lazy because you're good friend with the manager who's in this circle. also, in the contract it states that you Codex believes they pay you enough money to compensate for any overtime. they don't consider that overtime can sometimes mean leaving the office at 11pm..

Pros

It's a great place to start your career as an intern or a junior PM, you can learn the ropes with the extensive training and mentoring provided to have a basic understanding of the industry and processes. Great emphasis on quality and vendor communication.

Cons

Technology: given the size of the company, it cannot offer a proper exposure to elaborate technology and a wide range of tech solutions. Favouritism: I saw other reviewers mention this here, on Glassdoor, and I am afraid this is something that I noticed too. I find it odd that management socialise with more junior staff outside of work and then make decisions on, e.g. promotions, pay rise or performance affecting the same employees.
