Totally demoralizing

Pros

The clients are wonderful people.

Cons

Working here was the most demoralizing experience of my life and after being scapegoated and inexplicably terminated, I permanently left the social services field. Clients are wonderful but can't make up for colleagues who backstab and utterly clueless, incompetent management who will scapegoat you at a moments notice. Please be warned that working here may require therapy once you are inevitably chewed up and thrown away by these hypocrites who are only pretending to care.

Pros

Amazing clients to work with, some really great front line staff.

Cons

Terrible management who will snake you and pretend to listen/care when you are being harassed and abused by other staff and managers. Management will do nothing to help or support you, pay is awful for the amount of work expected and gaslighting is their favourite form of communication (pretty much only form of communication). Get ready to hold a department on your own.

Pros

Clients are awesome, wonderful people. There is a gym for employees.

Cons

Incompetent management. Much window dressing about self-care and client centered care but if you don't find enough jobs for struggling clients with mental health problems during a mental health pandemic, you're out in the street!
