Pros

- Efficient Approval Process: The lady boss's quick approval process can facilitate swift decision-making and project progression. - Multiple Layers of Approval: The multiple layers of approval can act as a safety net to prevent errors, even if accountability is lacking.

Cons

- Toxic Hierarchical Culture: A deeply ingrained toxic culture where the manager consistently sides with senior staff, regardless of evidence or fairness. This creates a hostile environment where newer employees feel unheard and marginalized. - Double Standards and Bias: Blatant double standards regarding communication styles. Mine and a few other ex-colleagues "harsh tone" is criticized, while similar behavior from favored employees is ignored. This suggests a strong in-group/out-group dynamic, possibly exacerbated by the company's predominantly Chinese demographic. - Exploitative Compensation: Severely underpaid for the level of responsibility expected. Employees are expected to perform like senior staff but receive junior-level compensation, leading to resentment and burnout. - Lack of Support and Guidance: Managers fail to provide clear guidance or support, leaving employees to navigate complex tasks without adequate training or assistance. The manager even claims to be doing the employee's job, further undermining their confidence and authority. - Unrealistic Expectations: Management demands overperformance while simultaneously underpaying, demonstrating a disregard for employee value and a desire to maximize output at minimal cost. - Lack of Accountability: While the multi-layered approval process offers some security, it also creates a lack of individual accountability. Mistakes are often swept under the rug, with no one held responsible. - Uncooperative Colleagues: A culture of unwillingness to assist colleagues, possibly driven by perceived competition or insecurity. Managerial Inaction: The manager tolerates blatantly disruptive behavior from favored employees, such as excessive gossip, while ignoring the negative impact on the work environment. - High Turnover and Denial: The alarming rate of employee resignations (8 in one year) is dismissed by the manager as employees simply "finding better opportunities," demonstrating a complete lack of self-awareness and unwillingness to address underlying issues.
