Pros

They bless the children with so many gifts from donations and quarterly family celebrations is the least they can do.

Cons

This agency cares about the money and pushing children back into homes where some parents are not ready. The judges complained about the fast turnover rate whenever I attended court, files are not updated, supervisor changes service plans to make insufficient parents appear to look as though they are making progress. Foster parents were lazy and were not compliant with agency blaming worker, long hours, low pay, unprofessional, unfriendly environment and unrealistic expectations of worker. I was forced to work w/o certifications due to supervisor not filling out forms correctly. This agency needs to close or start over with new starting at the top.

Terrible Management

Pros

The agency programs are meaningful and impactful.

Cons

Terrible Leadership. The executive team ignores/condones misconduct by managers. The executive team is mostly new and inexperienced. They have decided to prioritize metrics and "branding" changes over employees. This used to be a great place to work. Your job was meaningful and you were treated with respect. Now, the work is still meaningful, but you will be treated like a robot. Senior leadership is patronizing and dismissive which is causing many long-term, wonderful employees to quit. There is a mass exodus of employees from this agency, just look at the open positions on their career's page. There is a reason why so many employees are leaving: This is a terrible place to work.

Pros

Colleagues, flex scheduling (although not always helpful), opportunities for trainings, clinical supervision, pto accural, and meaningful work.

Cons

There is an unwritten expectation that you should sacrifice your family and live to work and not work to live. I've lost count of the times my colleagues or I were put in situations where we were expected to work evening hours, sacrifice our time with family, and shammed for choosing family. There is very black and white thinking from management often putting employees in situations where they're voluntold to do tasks. Expect to only get a cost of living wage raise. The performance bonus process is the worst I've ever seen at any agency. It has changed every year I have been at the agency, the hardest workers I know didn't even get one, and the majority of employees were labeled D grade employees.

Thank you for this feedback. We’re thankful to know that you feel like you’re doing meaningful work, alongside colleagues you value, and that you’re receiving quality clinical supervision, supportive professional development opportunities, and generous time off. Prioritizing work/life balance, and keeping all families (including our own) at the center of our decisions is always our goal, but unfortunately, it sounds like this hasn’t consistently been your experience. We also regularly assess our compensation structure to ensure salaries are fair and market-based within the nonprofit sector; we hear your concerns about salary and annual increases and we will continue to strive to offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes fair salaries. Additionally, our performance review process continues to be reviewed and improved annually based on staff feedback to ensure it aligns with Brightpoint’s values and priorities. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concerns and hear your feedback directly. If you’re amenable to a follow-up conversation, please reach out to hrdepartment@brightpoint.org with the subject line, “Glassdoor follow-up” so that your email can be efficiently routed to the appropriate team member. We appreciate your loyalty to Brightpoint as a therapist with more than four years’ tenure, and we’re grateful for the impact you’re making in your role. We look forward to a follow-up conversation.
