Pros

Well known brand Good salary

Cons

At Bolt, there's a clear divide—two classes, really—with Eastern Europeans on one side, and everyone else on the other. The Eastern Europeans, they stick together, exchanging gossip on Telegram, plotting against the rest. They're intense about it, clearly feeling under threat, worried this job is their best shot in Eastern Europe. I get where they're coming from, but this dynamic? It's dragging the whole company down, causing some of the best talent to leave. The whole "customer first" mantra at Bolt? It's just lip service. Nobody there takes it seriously. And the communication between people? The worst. And during the interview process? They'll promise you everything, but once you're in, they deliver on nothing. There's a lot of inauthenticity at Bolt—people saying things that just aren't true, left and right. But if you speak Russian and are part of the “in” group, hey maybe you can make a few dollars and lift yourself out of poverty. Good for you. Everyone else, stay away.

Pros

Nice office, snacks, all needed devices available just in a moment

Cons

The company hires employees for new personalities not to solve the company's tasks, but because other companies have such positions. All correspondence in messengers, including private messages, is inspected by management. There is no concept of confidentiality. HR employees easily share personal information about other employees not only with management, but also with other companies. The company dismisses competent employees who point to existing problems in the company, giving preference to incompetent employees who do not give anything useful, but are friends with senior management. While I was working here, several good engineers was suddenly fired, and no one knows where are they and what happened. But we knew, that they was asking question, really good and important questions.

Pros

Clean office Some friendly coworkers Good brand name Good starting point for your career

Cons

- Low pay - Generally very stingy culture: they think they are being efficient but they are just being cheap and nearsighted - Terrible communication skills across the board - They promise you a lot before you join then once you're in the door, they completely change their tone - Very very subtle racism: If someone from Estonia or Russia has strong opinions or is even rude, they are celebrated as tough but caring. If someone from a country with darker people has a different opinion or pushes back in any way, they are labeled as hard to work with - Lots of gossip for a company that is 70% male - No creativity - Lots of small-mindedness and hubris: because they are all from small and/or poor countries, they don't realize how crappy and small Bolt is compared to other companies. - They all are hoping for a big IPO, but -- and this is my personal opinion -- if they go public, all of their weak business fundamentals will become clear to the world and any publicly traded Bolt stock will drop hard and fast
