Pros

- Waking up on the Monday post finishing at Blippar realizing I how happy I was.

Cons

This place is an absolute nightmare. I resigned on the basis that I genuinely didn't think the place was going anywhere, and it looks like the cat is out of the hat in regards to not where Blippar has fallen to, but where Blippar has always been. At no stage in my time there did I have any confidence that this company was going to grow. Blowing your investors funds on new offices, and unjustified travel to give the illusion that you are a global company isn't growth, growth is an increase in sales, market share and repeated business - all three of which Blippar has failed in. While the product isn't perfect, the biggest detriment to Blippar is its people, its politics, and how there are some absolute shocking appointments in senior positions simply due to their friendship with the CEO. This seems from be rather frequent from a partnership/sales team perspective. There are two factions within Blippar - the originals, and those that have came on post Blippars infant stages. Those that came on later seem to be the passionate and smart ones, and really the ones trying to push the company forwards. The originals, ironically, are the ones stuffing it up for everyone. They are too comfortable, are only in that position due to their personal friendship with the CEO, don't like being questioned, and simply won't listen. Basically a bunch of Steve Jobs wannabes giving off the illusion of success through their social media accounts when in reality none of them have lived up to what would be expected of them. Strategy as always was shocking and inconsistent. I genuinely believe that the powers that be of Blippar simply thought their product was awesome, people and businesses were going to flock in and hand over cash and the next thing you know Blippar is a global empire. The best strategy they could implement at present is survival.

Pros

Shaping a still new born tech industry Working remotely from home Some independence in what you do Travel around the world (if you're part of a particular groups that said, see below)

Cons

No management A lot of secret projects going on that very few have a clue about A lot of internal conflicts and politics due to the lack of management and nobody seems to care about it even though it's killing little by little the company. As previously mentioned here by others and I couldn't have said it better if you are part of some clique/group your opinion will be of a high value otherwise don't even try. Typically if you're not part of this clique and if you don't agree with some decisions and you say it a bit too loud be ready to pack your stuff. Brand partners (just mere salesmen) are still babies having just finished school act like they run the company. Even though it's a (4 years old) startup so instability is quite normal, firing off so many people in so many offices throughout the world at the same time even if they were competent and been here for a long time says a lot about how a company treat its members.
