Unrealistic Expectations and Poor Pay
Pros
- Fully remote, with the flexibility to work from anywhere. - Ability to set your own work hours and schedule. - Supportive and lovely teammates who make collaboration enjoyable
Cons
Beyond Academy started off as a great place to work, but unfortunately, the company has significantly declined over time. Management feels out of touch and appears to place little emphasis on staff retention. Sales targets are completely unrealistic and must be achieved in very short timeframes, creating a constant fear of termination for many team members. The salary is far below industry standards and non-competitive. Commission structures for the sales team have remained stagnant since 2020, despite their program fees increasing year-over-year. There’s a noticeable lack of incentives to stay, contributing to a high turnover rate across the company. While working remotely is a perk, it’s no longer a unique advantage as many companies now offer this. I ultimately left due to the combination of unachievable targets, severely under paid, and management presenting data that seemed fabricated to fit their narrative. Sadly, I’ve witnessed several talented colleagues being let go under similar circumstances. Career progression is highly subjective - if management likes you, you might get promoted, but even then, the pay doesn’t justify the added workload. I regret that I can no longer recommend Beyond Academy as an employer.
