Pros

- Chicago office is in a Trophy Building at Wacker/Madison - EXCELLENT product offering - No direct competitors - Chicago sales reps are good people - They finally got an HR person and she's working hard to keep things balanced and put new things into place to help the company grow - New sales director recently hired (sales previously reported to CEO directly) - Base salary is OK - Paid ZoomInfo and/or LinkedIn Sales Navigator - Fully-paid health care (United Healthcare) - HR is great

Cons

- No proper training - Scheduled lunch time - VERY rigid with time off - No culture or stated company values - "Rookie" CEO and CTO's first attempt at running a company, and it shows - They will lowball you on salary (expect to negotiate) - Night meetings sometimes last from 5:15pm until 6:15pm - Excel and Google Sheets are the norm, as the CRM they have isn't utilized - No marketing person (he quit a few months after he started) - Farm your own leads to even have a chance of success - CTO has longer-term employees spy on newer people for various reasons - CTO scolds the great employees on our development team in front of everyone for minor mistakes (in the way a father scolds his 11-year-old son) - There are two "sales reps" that are given de facto managerial status and all of the top-tier accounts regardless of territory - Most sales reps quit or are fired within 2-4 months - You will regularly be threatened in weekly meetings where the CEO verbally abuses you in front of your coworkers if he thinks your pipeline isn't growing quickly enough - By all reasonable accounts, this is not a serious operation for anyone other than the CEO, CTO, and their 2 "favorites" who they give all of the accounts and pay them to go to trade shows.

We really appreciate your honest feedback. We believe in empowering employees and implementing corrective actions periodically based on the feedback received. As you may already know, workplace dynamics are different for an emerging IT company as opposed to that of an established organization. Incompetent, backwards and nasty organization

Pros

Product is decent for the credit dept

Sales process is antiquated, you cal leads off excel spread sheets. You would think for a cloud company, they would have a sales CRM....Management is much too frugal for that. This sales organization is run like a telemarketing bank. They do not keep salespeople more than 3 months as they church and burn them for leads. PTO is a joke, the CTO somehow is somehow running the sales dept? If you dont believe me, the company has been around for 6 plus years. Only 1 salesperson has been there over 2 years. Look at how many salespeople came and left in a short period of time. The owner has a brilliant technical mind, but is mysogonistic and rude and quite frankly the EEOC should take a look into some practices. I could provide witnesses and examples.

Appreciate your honest Feedback! Management is actively working on all the shortcomings highlighted. Most of the suggestions mentioned by you were already addressed. As Bectran is an evolving company there are bound to be some roadblocks which we are constantly working on to offer a more suitable, motivating and engaging environment. Pros

You get paid on time Health/dental/vision Product is good, and platform specialists work hard to present good demos.

Cons

No actual CRM (access to what they do have is restricted until you have a demo). No lead database No mass email tool No click to dial Inbound leads are not distributed. LinkedIn is not paid for. Calendar use is confusing/leads often hop on wrong calls. They're using 3-4 different tools which do not help the sales process. Note taking and dialing is a very manual process. They do not practice what they preach, which is streamlined automation and efficiency (this is completely lacking in the sales dept) Lead encroachment and territory crossing is commonplace. Most have survived here by preying on the leads that have been leftover by those who left. The Salesforce seems to be full of people with the "survive and advance" mentality. Turnover is very high. Business development managers and other long termed salesman are interested in themselves, not so much the company. Beware this behavior. Long hours, redundant meetings (meetings on Fridays after 5:15) which interfere with calling hours. No vacation until a year in, only five holidays off, working those days before the holiday too; Xmas Eve, New year's Eve, day before Thanksgiving, etc. Lots of pressure to perform and build pipeline, with almost no tools to help.

Thanks for your feedback. We acknowledge your valuable inputs and there are already substantial improvements in all the areas you highlighted. We have long established a very competitive HR process, and management is actively guiding us on further refinements of the HR policies to promote employee well-being. Our employee hand book is updated from time to time and circulated to the employees so that they are aware of all the benefits offered by the company. We have continued to see positive shift in employee satisfaction since the implementation of our HR policy changes. We have implemented an improved CRM process and set-up additional Lead Generation teams to generate leads through industry standard tools to complement our sales team.
