Great ICs, terrible leadership

Pros

Many of the people who have been at Axonius for a long time were stellar to work with, and the type of people I keep up with after departing. The majority of the team is full of incredibly smart, helpful, and wonderful people. Those people, along with a solid product leads many folks to continue working at Axonius despite the issues.

Cons

Axonius had one of the most toxic senior leadership I’ve ever experienced and (hopefully) will ever experience. The moment you disagree with the C suite you’re going to be on the chopping block. If you express any kind of feeling beyond, “what leadership says is gold,” you will be told that you’re weak and your opinions are wrong. I didn’t realize this until I departed. I describe my experience as having a form of PTSD and it had taken months and months to learn to actually express my concerns at my new company.

I’m very sorry to hear this was your experience as this is not at all how we want employees to feel. As you say, we hire so many smart and capable team members, you should always feel heard and respected when expressing your opinion - whether or not leadership shares that opinion. Discussion and diversity of ideas make a company stronger. If you are comfortable, I would value a conversation to understand more about your experience with senior leadership. Pros

Great product in terms of what it could be

Cons

Oh jeeze, where do we start? Sales leadership is mediocre and spews buzzwords. CTO has an ego, and is always right (Even when wrong) CEO doesn't seem to be involved in operations currently.

Bad Leaders

Pros

Salary PTO Benefits Cross functional team members

Cons

We were lied to for several months and just experienced a mass layoff. The leaders lack clarity and vision and has been struggling to hit numbers as an organization. At one point we were told they would never do layoffs, because if they did, it was a reflection on them, but now the time has come, and it speaks volumes. They have pushed so many great people out and if you speak up for what is wrong, you are let go or eliminated very fast. Lots of pending legal issues due to how employees are treated. Lacks diversity (women and other races)

Thank you for your feedback. We did decide to no longer have an account management team at Axonius. This was no reflection on the individuals on the team, and we treated everyone with respect and dignity. It was a hard decision and we appreciate the impact it has, and are offering support in multiple ways. Thank you for everything you did while you were at Axonius. -Nick Degnan, SVP, Sales
