      Most staff members are friendly if they aren’t too bogged down with work, stressed or busy trying to impress SLT

      Cons

      Expected to go above and beyond - sacrificing mental health and wellbeing. The school culture is to work hard till burnout. Micromanagement, rigid structures… sucks the joy of teaching

      Great Place to work as a Science Technician

      1. Supportive Head and staff with the Department for Science 2. Senior Science Technician is knowledgable, approachable and resonates a positive working vibe 3. Ease of management 4. Balance work and free time 5. Regular updates, termly training and an optimistic environment 6. Great pay scales for technicians compared to many other places 7. Support, guidance and assistance towards training for a PGCE+QTS

      1. Too much physical work (but expected with the role) 2. Management of Stationary (generally falls on the technicians) 3. Certain months have too many experiments and some are completely free
