Pros

There are some great people that work at Arelion and there used to be such a great company culture.

Cons

Since Telia company sold off the Carrier business to an investment group, there have been major layoffs, poor business decisions, and a complete lack of strategy/vision regarding how to move forward given the current challenges in a struggling industry. Leadership is absolutely the problem here, and they are clueless. They do not understand that the business model is different than other companies which they have worked at. Their only strategy to combat a difficult economical landscape is layoffs and to push the remaining people to pick up the slack, resulting in a strong sense of burnout and helplessness. Leadership is essentially now a group of people without experience, making decisions about things which they have no knowledge of. They are petty and require blind obedience, as their decisions cannot be questioned. Frequently you will hear leadership make negative comments about other colleagues behind their backs, leading to a very toxic environment. It is incredibly disappointing to see a previously great company, be a complete shell of its former self. I would NOT recommend this company to a prospect, and advise anyone to steer clear of Arelion. You will not be compensated fairly, they will overwork you to the bone, and then create a toxic environment where you feel trapped.

Pros

During my time at Arelion, it became increasingly clear that the company lacked a genuine commitment to people, health & safety, and diversity. Despite outward messaging, inclusive language and representation were consistently absent from job advertisements and internal communications. The top leadership appeared more focused on safeguarding their own positions than fostering an equitable and supportive workplace, often making cost-saving decisions at the expense of employees. Unfortunately, unless you were closely aligned with the CEO or part of the inner leadership circle, meaningful recognition or support was limited.
