Pros

-Exposure to different small-scaled projects from start to finish -Co-workers are nice, not a lot of office politics

Cons

-The owner passes on his stress/frustration over clients to employees. This happens almost on a daily basis. It makes you think about whether or not you've done something wrong. -Very bad hours and you are expected to work till 7 PM at the earliest; often, it gets much later than that. -Poor project management. You get random tasks thrown at you all the time. -Healthcare and 401lk start after 3 months of joining the office.

Pros

You learn A LOT, very hands on and you get the opportunity to be part of every project, and propose design ideas. That does not happen at other firms, especially corporate unless you have 6+ years of experience, maybe.

Cons

Lots of staffing turn over, people don't usually last very long which makes it hard when a project changes hands. Also many late nights, and a couple too many weekends. The employees are great people and there is comradery, but it is very much of the 'old architecture ways' where the thought of having a life outside of the office and only working "9-5" is not very possible.
