Pros

Exposure to global investment management operations, good learning opportunities through the TOP program, and supportive peers. The company organizes many engagement activities and ERG events, which help create a sense of community. The rotational structure provides a broad understanding of different teams.

Cons

Salary hikes are average and not competitive. Some managers are difficult to work with, set their own rules, and do not always follow broader organizational guidance, which creates confusion and inconsistency. Providing feedback about managers can sometimes backfire, and the People team is often unresponsive. The TOP program promotes choice and transparency, but in reality team placements can lack clarity, and decisions sometimes contradict discussions and preferences, creating frustration. Many TOP associates are placed merely to cover temporary team gaps rather than for development. Additionally, some managers lack the skills expected in a corporate environment. Despite the company spending heavily on events, compensation growth remains limited. There is a disconnect between positive financial results discussed publicly and internal messaging that “the company hasn't performed well” during year-end reviews. Overall, AB seems focused on cost-cutting and shifting more operational work to Pune, similar to many other firms in the industry.

Pros

Decent PTO (15 days annually), annual bonus, free snacks in the office kitchen, WFH 2 days a week. (Not worth it though)

Cons

NO HR REPRESENTATIVES IN THE OFFICE, the closest is in the HQ in Nashville……This leads to the extremely toxic environment that is perpetuated through the top down, mostly through gossip and micromanagement. No autonomy or control, I was written up for taking a lunch break “sometimes up to an hour each day”. $67k starting salary. Executive level employees and managers have huge egos. Pushing healthy work hours well to the limit is expected if you want to succeed. Associates and Coordinators are treated like doormats.

Pros

Right out of college, it is beneficial to have the opportunity to rotate through different groups and types of roles to figure out what's a good fit.

Cons

Quality of experience in each rotation in terms of training, learning, mentoring, and interesting work can be very manager dependent
