Pros

I think the office managers are good at heart, but caught up in something bigger than themselves and don't know how to disentangle from this unscrupulous mess of a CEO and company.

Cons

This business has marketed itself as being supportive and progressive in a socially and environmentally conscious company. Please be advised that it is none of those things. I drained my savings to move across the country for this company, only to be callously fired weeks later along with another coworker who had also undergone a huge move. No warnings, no reason provided. It was literally weeks of positive praise and crocodile smiles, followed by a blindside firing leaving me ineligible for unemployment and without healthcare. There is no HR department. No training outside of makeshift videos of people working along with sitting at current employees desks while they frantically try to manage their own workloads. It's hard to express the level of deceit and disregard exhibited by the staff and CEO. This is my biggest grievance with the company, the dishonesty in the hiring, throughout my tenure and in the firing process. If you choose to walk into this lion's den, be prepared for covert performance reviews conducted by outside corporate consultants, silent, terrified coworkers and no dialogue about the job or your performance. After my exit from the company, half of the office was calling my phone to disclose the revolving door of employees and how they're planning their own exit from this unstable environment. There are tons of wonderful, supportive, socially and environmentally friendly companies out there! This is not one of them. Do yourself a favor and take your time, positive attitude and talent elsewhere!

Hello, We rely and appreciate the feedback from our travelers We want to hear what goes well and where improvements can be made. It is the same for receiving feedback from former and current employees. There is always an element of risk when hiring new staff and amplified when someone needs to relocate to a new city. Our intentions are to add to our talented team. In this situation, we chose to terminate your employment, and this was not a whimsical decision taken lightly but a hard decision that we chose for our organization. We are sorry for the stress and hardship this caused you. Jonathan Brunger General Manager

Pros

I met some amazing friends and coworkers at this company. Most of the employees are wonderful people and I still talk with many of them. That is partly what makes the cons so much more disappointing.

Cons

The owner of this company has no respect or appreciation for his employees. He even repeatedly calls you by the wrong name which is extra surprising considering there were only around 25 employees when I was there. I used to joke that he started the company so that he could order someone to bring him coffee, which is does daily, and then tell you that you did it wrong. A few examples to demonstrate his character: I was there as the company was really starting to explode, and we broke the monthly sales record by a large margin. Brian showed up, made no comment on the success, and instead wanted to show off his new (and second) Mercedes. I recall he was really excited about the room in the back and the self parking feature. During that same year, a record breaking year, we had the company Christmas party. His compliments of some employees came at the price of breaking down someone else. He also forgot to mention and thank his entire tech team and administrative team. He didn't even recognize their existence. Again, this is a small company. We are all friends. It was inappropriate and unacceptable. Brian is driven by one thing...money. He wants as much of it as he can get. He is VERY good at putting on a display of generosity, but the longer you are around him and see how he does business, you realize that it is not always generosity for the sake of goodness. Rather, he seems to spend the smallest amount he can to create the image of philanthropy/sustainability, and he is very good at it. It's part of his branding and marketing, and it has clearly worked well. I recognize that some good is still coming from this, but don't be deceived as this will not be your working experience. He will pay you as little as he can and justify it as "good compensation for the region." For the record, I don't think Brian is a terrible person. I think he struggles to connect with people and I think the success of his company has likely influenced his character and self image. I don't wish him ill will and I hope that some positive change can come from this review. As mentioned in the Pros, a lot of my favorite people work there still, and I want them to succeed in their respective careers and have a healthy working environment.

Pros

Travel! I love travel, thinking about it, talking about and doing it. I lived overseas in Europe in my twenties, and with the company I've been to Antarctica now, Borneo, Cambodia, Vietnam, and back to Europe, My colleagues are wonderful too. Travel is ever changing, and expecting the unexpected isn't just a cliche! But there is always someone ready to help with any problems or questions. Our suppliers overseas are wonderful to work with too. You can tell that they really love what they do too. Being part of such a supportive network is great - especially going through the pandemic together and now experiencing the recovery together. A few have given management a bad rap here, but my experience has been positive. They've listened to me when I've asked, and they care about the well being of the staff with benefits like maternity leave, child care matching, extended time off, and travel discounts for family.

Cons

Before the pandemic, the company experienced tremendous growth, more than doubling in a couple years. This brought with it lots of change - especially with new tech platforms and so many new people needing trained. We went through some rough times with some colleagues frustrated with the fast changes.
