Pros

There are alot of friendly faces and different personalities it's good when you have some friends

Cons

Abilities feels more like a smoke screen as the reality isnt the same as the image they want to portray. Some of the able staff at Abilities are a bit difficult to get along with, there's alot of bullying and teaming up against other people and some of the staff are mean to the disabled staff, management does not care about it when people ask for help they don't help and tell you to quit if you can't handle it. Many people work so hard at abilities but don't feel any support for work place issues or conflict there is never any resolutions and there are people constantly taking advantage of others. There's no management and the staff is running the place, it's extremely toxic and there's alot of animosity and hate going around

Pros

The best thing about this job is the fact that you have the opportunity to change lives!

Cons

UNFORTUNATELY, the upper management treats staff like crap! They treat staff like they are incompetent. The owners of the company are very hands off and disrespectful. Basically, the way they run the company is evident through the complete dysfunction of the company as a whole. How they have kept the company open this long is beyond me!

Pros

Will help you complete CPR, First Aid, Med Aide 1, and CPI training.

Cons

Dictatorial, sneaky management. You must work major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Does not need justification to terminate you. Emotionally draining. Lack of in home resources to complete job description. The average employee lasts less than 7 months unless they work in the office. The office does not look out for program assistants. Violent clientele.

Hello! We know that working major holidays really sucks sometimes! Unfortunately, most of our individuals do not have family of their own. This means our Direct Support staff are required to work some holidays - we don't want our individuals alone on the holidays! Re: "violent clientele" - some of our individuals do have aggressive behaviors and that is tough for all involved. We do try to provide the best training we can (Tools of Choice) to assist our staff with those difficult situations. Thank you for your feedback.
