Nobody wants to hear that it's cancer, but Bostwick Laboratories at least tries to get the news to you quickly -- within 24 hours on average. The pathology lab focuses on diagnosing cancer; it began by analyzing prostate biopsies and urine tests but is expanding into other specialized areas. The company's Bostwick Scientific division provides clinical trial support to pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms. It has half a dozen labs in the US and one in London that offer services in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and management of prostate cancer, kidney disease, and other conditions. CEO David Bostwick, a former professor of pathology and urology at the Mayo Clinic, formed Bostwick Laboratories in 1999.
