DevOps Engineer — Job Description

Overview Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure and CI/CD automation to enable fast, safe software delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate infrastructure-as-code for cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI) for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Containerize applications and manage orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS); define Helm charts and operators.
• Implement observability: logging, metrics, tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Jaeger) and set SLOs/alerts.
• Automate configuration management and secrets handling (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
• Ensure security and compliance: IaC scanning, vulnerability remediation, least-privilege IAM, and network segmentation.
• Operate and optimize CI/CD, release strategies (blue/green, canary), rollbacks, and feature-flag tooling.
• Monitor system performance and capacity; plan and execute scaling, cost optimization, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Respond to and lead incident management, runbooks, postmortems, and remediation.
• Collaborate with developers, SREs, QA, and product teams to improve developer experience and platform reliability.
• Mentor engineers on DevOps best practices and contribute to platform documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years experience in DevOps/SRE/platform engineering (adjust per seniority).
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and core services (compute, networking, storage, IAM).
• Proficient with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools and one or more CI/CD systems.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes; experience operating clusters in production.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK) and alerting/ON-call practices.
• Experience with configuration management, secrets management, and security tooling.
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python, Go, or similar) and understanding of networking, Linux internals, and system performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and communication skills.
• Certifications (CKA, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, HashiCorp Terraform Associate) a plus.

Working Conditions

• Cross-functional, fast-paced environment; on-call rotation and incident response expected.
• Remote/hybrid options common; occasional travel for on-site incident resolution or team events.

Performance Metrics

• Deployment frequency and lead time for changes.
• Mean time to recovery (MTTR) and incident count.
• System availability and SLO/SLA adherence.
• Infrastructure cost per service and cost-optimization improvements.
• Automation coverage and reduction in manual toil.

Pay: $9,204.54 – $10,430.50 per month
