About the role
As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the maintenance and engineering function to ensure the brewery runs safely, reliably, and efficiently. You’ll be part of the leadership team, helping drive performance while building a strong, capable team around you.
What you will be doing:
- Leading the engineering and maintenance team to deliver safe, reliable operations
- Developing and delivering short-term (1 year) and longer-term (3 year) maintenance plans
- Contributing as a key member of the brewery leadership team
- Driving continuous improvement through Heineken’s World Class Manufacturing programme
- Managing maintenance systems, processes, and performance
- Overseeing repairs and maintenance budgets, suppliers, and service partners
- Leading safety, food safety, and environmental initiatives
- Supporting water, energy, and sustainability improvement programmes
- Ensuring compliance with New Zealand legislation and engineering standards
- Managing maintenance planning, scheduling, and spare parts processes
- Delivering site projects, including CAPEX projects up to $1m
- Improving collaboration across operations, procurement, and engineering teams
What you’ll bring:
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical)
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing or operations
- Strong maintenance or engineering background (FMCG experience a plus)
- Experience leading high-performing teams
- Solid understanding of maintenance planning & systems
- Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, TPM, or similar)
- Project management experience
