About the Opportunity

My client is a leader in industrial power transmission and drive technology. A family run company on a global scale.

They are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Engineer to join a growing technical sales team to service the Auckland and upper North Island region.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse customer base across multiple industries, providing technical solutions and building long-term client relationships. A competitive base salary and package with bonuses is on offer for the right person.

This role comes with a company vehicle with reasonable personal use, lap top and phone, competitive remuneration package and ongoing professional development and training. You would be joining a team who are tight knit and feel like family.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering solutions that meet customer requirements. This position combines technical expertise with commercial acumen and would suit someone who enjoys working independently while collaborating with a wider team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow sales within an assigned territory.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and market segments.
• Prepare and execute customer account and sales development plans.
• Provide technical advice and recommend appropriate solutions for customer applications.
• Support customers through the specification, selection, and implementation process.
• Respond to and resolve customer enquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
• Stay informed of industry developments, emerging technologies, and market trends.

About You

You will be a proactive and customer-focused professional with a strong technical background and proven success in business-to-business sales.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of technical sales experience in industrial or engineering products – eg mechanical products, rotating machinery or electro-mechanical product sales
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel within your assigned territory.
• Full NZ drivers licence.
• NZ residency or citizenship.
