Business Intelligence is at the heart of how the RNZAF and NZDF operate-driving critical decision-making, strengthening business processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of ACARS data.

As our BI Report Developer, you'll play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights. Reporting to the BI Manager, you'll leverage your expertise in data modelling and report development to design, build, and deliver high-quality reports that support operational excellence.

This is more than just a technical role-you'll bring both deep technical capability and strong organisational understanding to meet evolving reporting and analytics needs. Working collaboratively within a wider NZDF Data Warehousing Team, you'll help deliver a connected, enterprise-wide approach to BI across Defence.

The salary for this role ranges from $88,217 to approx. $97,359, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience.

Alongside strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear, concise documentation, we are looking for someone who is proactive, takes initiative, and is confident in tackling and solving business problems.

You will also have:

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a SAP-related role.
• Experience with SAP Logistics and/or Plant Maintenance modules.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.

We do have some other requirements that would be advantageous:

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a military, civilian engineering, or industrial environment, including understanding of RNZAF logistics activities and aircraft maintenance philosophy.
• Knowledge of SAP BI tools, development, and reporting methodologies.
• Experience in a BI or data analytics role.
• Experience using Power BI or similar data visualisation tools.
• SAP Data Warehousing and reporting training.
• SAP BW/4HANA data modelling experience and/or training.
• SAP BI Enterprise Reporting, Query, and Analysis training.
• Microsoft Power BI certification or formal training.

Low Level Security Clearance

• You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
• At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
• You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
