About the role
We are seeking an experienced Office Operations Manager to lead our Christchurch office and play a key role in supporting Partners and driving high-performing, client-focused operations.
This is a new role that reflects the firm’s investment in strengthening local operational leadership and partner support. It represents a step-change from traditional office management, with a stronger focus on business enablement, capability development, and driving adoption of systems and ways of working.
You will:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Legal Administrators and support staff
- Work closely with the Office Partner and Partners to support business development and client engagement initiatives
- Provide operational and performance insights to support decision-making and improve outcomes
- Lead the adoption of systems, tools, and process improvements within the office
- Oversee office operations, including facilities, suppliers, and workplace experience
- Act as a key coordination point with Client Services to support efficient onboarding and trust account processes
- Drive continuous improvement across operations, and
- Support alignment of office culture with firm values and ways of working
This role goes beyond traditional office management, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting change initiatives, and enabling the office to operate effectively in a modern legal environment.
What you will bring
You will be a senior operational leader who enjoys working across people, processes, and systems.
You will have:
- Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in office management or a senior operations role within a professional services environment
- Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and performance management
- Strong organisational and execution capability across competing priorities
- Experience supporting or leading change initiatives, system rollouts, or process improvement
- Confidence interpreting data and translating insights into actionable improvements
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
