      Interview

I was contacted by a Recruiter who reviewed my profile, and suggested an interview with the Product Manager. Meanwhile I had to complete an assignment for which I was given 3 days. Afterwards, I had 2 Skype interviews, one on-site interview in the Dusseldorf office. Finally after 2 days, I received an offer.

      Product Owner Interview

      14 Feb 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at trivago in Dec 2021

      Interview

The first round was with the hiring manager, it went very well and I was given a case study to prepare and present my approaches for afterward. I spent a considerable amount of time on it and prepared a detailed paper and uploaded it on their platform. Normally, they needed to arrange a meeting in which I can represent my ideas, approaches, etc. However, a few days later, I have received an email saying my document was great but unfortunately the role is no longer available, and if I want my profile can be shared with the other hiring managers of the open product roles. I said OK and they started to keep me waiting for almost 2 weeks and then they said they have found a better fit for the role. So this approach is not professional and damages the company's reputation.

      Product Owner Interview

      16 Aug 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at trivago in May 2019

      Interview

The interview process was pretty straightforward, after applying to the position I was requested to do a case study based on an existing market tool related to the position and, together with the case study, respond a few questions regarding Scrum. About 2 weeks after sending the file I was requested to present and discuss in an hour-long video call with two people from the area I applied to, where I could present my ideas and get their feedback on possible improvements to the case study. The final phase consisted with a session lasting around 1h30 with four people I would be working with, from different roles (QA, Developer, Business Analyst and Product Manager), each with questions taking into consideration their point of view and their goals in the whole process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Considering the hypothesis where a project has little documentation, how do you act to minimise the gap between software deliverables and required documentation?
