Applied through a LinkedIn posting and received an email from the recruiter saying they wanted to chat with me about my experience. During the screening call, the recruiter stated that I would be a good fit for the position based on the JD and my background. The actual interview was pushed back 30 mins and the VP of Services who interviewed me was the snarkiest piece of work I've ever met. Spent 90% of the interview droning about how my skills weren't a match (using JavaScript, structured data) instead of redirecting me toward the better-fit position. Got nothing but smug smirking as I explained that what he was asking was out of the scope of my previous roles. Recruiting and senior leadership needs to get it together and figure out how to treat candidates with respect.
