      Project Manager Interview

      1 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New Orleans, LA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at iSeatz (New Orleans, LA) in Oct 2024

      Interview

Overall the whole process was very disjointed. Initial interview was quick and went well (with HR), then didn’t hear back for a few weeks even though I followed up. I was excited to hear from them but when I interviewed with the actual team the red flags were everywhere. I was asking basic questions like who I would report to and what an average day looked like and I got totally opposite answers from the two managers. When they asked me questions about how I would handle certain situations at one point the interviewer said “we get that communication is important to you so that can’t be a part of your next answer” as if communicating isn’t a huge part of project management LOL. I’m a certified PMP so I mentioned things like a scope workshop to align and she was like “ok that’s still communication”. They also alluded to the work life balance being a pain point which is an automatic red flag if they’re the ones bringing it up at the interview. I am relieved I didn’t get an offer so I don’t have to talk to these people anymore.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      New Orleans, LA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at iSeatz (New Orleans, LA) in Mar 2017

      Interview

I had three interviews. One on the phone with HR to review my resume, one phone interview with the Hiring Manager, and one in person that lasted over three hours with both the future team and then the Hiring Manager in person. The interview with the future team felt like I was being pelted with unnecessary and personal questions. The group was certainly nice and seemed fun to work with, but the questions asked were unprofessional and had nothing to do with my ability to do the job. I also received no response from the Hiring Manager or HR after I followed up from the interview.

      Project Manager Interview

      18 Jun 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New Orleans, LA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at iSeatz (New Orleans, LA) in Jun 2015

      Interview

I had three interviews: One hour-long phone interview with an HR rep to talk about my resume. One ~40 minute long phone interview with PMO manager to discuss my project management background. One two hour long in-office interview with the PMO manager and the other project managers- this one was rescheduled twice. It covered my project management background (again), and just general personality questioning from the team. I have a feeling that they had no intention of hiring anyone. Some of the questioning sounded a bit like they were trying to get a bit of advice from me... seriously. None of the questioning was difficult. I am most likely more capable than the manager who interviewed me. They knew enough about my background to know that I have experienced enough in my years as a management consultant to manage their project management office, let alone just work in it, yet they'd prefer to "continue interviewing other candidates." They didn't provide a reason why, but did invite me to apply to other positions in the future... The PM team seemed like a group of nice, fun people. However, I'd recommend approaching this interview as practice for other interviews. One of the former employees did mention in a review here that they have no qualms about interviewing people whom they have no intention of hiring.
