I applied online. I interviewed at Zoe (London, England) in Sept 2025
Interview
Disappointing interview experience. For a Director-led conversation, I expected a more strategic and organic discussion focused on leadership, technical delivery and managing engineers. Instead, the interview was largely scripted and leaned heavily toward solution architecture.
There was limited depth in areas typically associated with senior engineering leadership. This raised concerns about the level of experience and maturity at this level within the organisation.
Based on this, I chose to withdraw from the process.

Question 1
Questions about scaling apps, testing, agile principles, all very basic.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Zoe
Interview
Long process - they took an average of a week to respond to each email. I was asked to give times for availability for next steps, which I did. Then by the time I got a response, the times had all passed, so I was asked for new ones. It was a really frustrating process, and I didn't feel like my time was valued at all. I pulled out of the process as a result.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zoe in Oct 2023
