I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at YipitData (Austin, TX) in Dec 2023
Interview
Very friendly and professional experience. The talent acquisition team were very helpful with scheduling meetings and informing me of the next steps along the way. The executives that I met were all very personable and gave off a great feeling that they were really invested in my experience.

Question 1
How would you go about building your own book of business?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at YipitData (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2022
Interview
Process was extremely lengthy and cumbersome. Included two rounds with a manager and current BDE. If you pass those two rounds then you have to conduct an e-mail exercise and role play. If you pass the role play, you then have to pass a round robin with six other employees from several different business functions.
After passing all those rounds, I received a written offer that was not the same comp structure as what was verbally promised by the manager. Additionally, I was to be a remote employee but it was not explained upfront that you are responsible for paying New York taxes since Yipit is headquartered there and newer tax laws were put in place for telecommuters. You can only avoid the New York telecommuter tax if you report to a “hub” office located in different parts of the country. However, the one I was closest to was a shared work space with 8 desks that was first come first serve. Yipit also was not going to cover a $240/month parking fee and the $20 fob access fee.
Ultimately, there were several miscommunications and lack of transparency in regards to tax implications of working remote for a company headquartered in New York.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at YipitData in Jan 2022
Interview
It was a very thorough interview process and that was conveyed from the beginning of the process and throughout. The HR team, along with the Business Development team were always in communication throughout the interview process and were quick to provide feedback about what did and did not go well so you always knew where you stood and whether you would advance to the next round. Everyone I met was extremely friendly and asked thoughtful questions while also sharing plenty of information throughout. They also offered to be resources at any point of the later stages and really meant it. Even though it was a length process, it was to ensure that all candidates would fit the culture at YipitData.
