I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Yelp (Scottsdale, AZ) in Aug 2013
Interview
The Interview was one directly on time, and consisted of 3 different managers and they asked questions each with a different interest, and wanted to play a role playing situation in order to see how up to the challenge I was. The Interview went smooth, but seemed a little weird and the managers seemed a little obscure.

Question 1
The most difficult or unexpected situation was how serious they were about role play situations. They asked a typical cold call question, but they wanted it how they wanted it and seemed like the question wasn't very moldable. "i know all your product information, and prices and all applicable details, but i am not interested in your company I think i am going to stick with the old ways i use to promote my information" Take this question and try to persuade me to stay with yelp.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
