I applied online. I interviewed at Xyicon in Jan 2026
Interview
There was an opening at Xyicon, and I applied through their portal.
As part of the application, they asked several questions, including my current salary, salary expectations, and experience.
After a day or two, I received an email from Xyicon asking me to complete a 5-day assignment, which consisted of two separate tasks. I was surprised, as there was no prior call or communication from an HR partner, just an email and nothing more.
What surprised me most was that they simply sent an email asking me to complete the assignment within five days, without even checking my availability.
Despite this, I decided to give it a try. I completed both assignments and submitted them. Later, I received another email stating that they would get back to me, and that was it.
If this is how their HR process works, it raises serious concerns about how they treat their employees as well.
Maybe I didn’t perform well on the assignment. Maybe the vacancies are being announced just to market company growth on LinkedIn. Or maybe they simply can’t afford my expectations.
It was a 5-day assignment. At the very least, there should have been the courtesy to call the candidate and ask whether they were available to complete such an assignment within that timeframe. Even a short call or a proper rejection message would have been reasonable, considering the candidate spent five full days on it.
It was a structured set of interviews
First a screening then a formal interview followed by an assignment (this was for the shortlisted candidates as I understand) the assignment allowed us to speak to representatives from different individuals we will be working with if joined,
It was great insights for both the interviewer and interviewed.
Its good to see this much of an investment is made to hire the perfect candidate.
