      Program Manager Interview

      26 Jan 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at X (Dublin, Dublin) in Nov 2020

      Interview

Applied for role in early November 2020 and heard back on 18th November 2020. I was really excited about the position - it was exactly the sort of opportunity I was looking for. First interview was with HR, to check my suitability for the role, it was friendly and really motivated me to want to work at Twitter. Moved to next stage and had a second interview about two weeks later, this time with the person who would be my line manager and it was again friendly and not particularly challenging, more a conversation than an interview. But this is where things started to go wrong. In the absence of updates from Twitter, I kept contacting Twitter HR asking for feedback. When I finally got feedback, it was positive, I remained excited but became increasingly uncomfortable about the fact that I felt I had to constantly ask for updates. I moved to next stage and had my third interview a week before Christmas. This was a tougher interview, but I left it feeling positive. As I write this review, on 25th January 2021, well over two months since my first interview with Twitter, I still don't know the outcome of my last interview, six weeks after it took place. I tried to get an update in advance of the Christmas break and when it came, it was that the person who interviewed me was now on leave. Three weeks into the New Year I still don’t have that update. It's left me feeling devalued and actually quite angry that I wasted my time investing in interview preparations etc and Twitter didn't even have the decency to tell me the outcome of my interview, instead just leaving me waiting. I didn’t apply for the role simply because it was at Twitter, I applied for it because the role was a great opportunity and it being at Twitter made it even better! In frustration, I have withdrawn my application. If this is how Twitter treat potential employees, I am concerned about what it would be like to work there. I was really excited about the position and think I would have been a good fit, but I feel I have treated me poorly e.g., leaving a candidate waiting for six weeks for the outcome of an interview (over Christmas and during a Covid19 lockdown) is deeply unfair. I won't be applying for any future positions at Twitter and recommend you prepare for a potentially long process if you decide to apply to work there.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at X (New York, NY)

      Interview

The interview process was lengthy and repetitive, but did offer the opportunity to speak with a number of different teams and stakeholders. Overall, slightly to long but does allow for you to get a good feel of the role and who you would be working with.
