Zoom interview. Never asked to see my portfolio or my background, Only asked about how I go about keeping track of samples and fabrics. Based on her questions and cold demeanor, I was not devastated to not hear back from them. I felt like it would not be an actual design position but more of production/sample manager.

Question 1
How do you keep track of your samples and develop process.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Woxer (Miami, FL) in Sept 2024
Interview
Interview process was a little overly complicated and not communicated properly there were many pre-channel interviews before a main one and the issues I had were that they were more interviews to prep and make you feel confident but not preparing for actual questions the main people in the company were going to ask.
When the bigger interviews came up the main people didn't seem to actually have a structure or questions, they just were asking "could you fix this?" or "can you do this?" not really asking about previous skills and applicable transferrable work qualities.
This ended up basically being a numbers game, if you haven't worked with big brands and got them millions of views then your experience doesn't matter. Versus, okay you worked with many brands how would you do better, or what would be the change.
I think that is the disconnect, the recruiters and many people like my experience but the main people wanted probably someone who has worked inside, Maxmara or some large scale or highly results driven brand. The problem is that wasn't explicitly looked at in all stages or responded to , so you go through like 3 interviews to then get told some basic things they could've checked killed your opportunity.
So its like 3 hours + 3 hours of prep time wasted. Then after this you're supposed to do a take home assignment after 3 interviews, then come in and present it in person, then i guess a final call? so 5 rounds? Unrealistic in my personal opinion especially if someone really needs a job, i think having 3 solid rounds and a good trial period would help.
