      Account Executive Interview

      1 Jul 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Workvivo in Jan 2025

      Interview

The process started off promising and ended in one of the most disappointing professional experiences I’ve had. The interview process itself was pretty standard - HR screening, hiring manager interview, VP level interview, panel presentation, and a conversation with the CCO. The process was a bit slow and communication was definitely lacking from a recruiter standpoint, but generally, pretty easy. I ended up receiving a verbal offer shortly after I wrapped up the final interview (April). That's when it all went downhill. After I received a verbal offer and had what I believed were good-faith negotiations around compensation, I confirmed I was ready to accept the offer. From there, things stalled. Over the course of SIX weeks, I received vague updates from the recruiter with no indication that the offer might fall through...only that the “final approvals” were in progress and that these processes "take time." Then, after nearly two months of patience, I was informed the offer hadn’t been approved and was instead presented with a low ball offer, which was even lower than what they originally offered me (pre-negotiation). I re-engaged with the hiring manager and made a reasonable counter. Things seemed to be trending positively again, but I was then met with 2 more weeks radio silence followed by a generic, robotic email from the recruiter letting me know that my offer had been rescinded because of "changes to the business." It’s unfortunate, because I genuinely wanted to join this company (and even turned down another job offer to do so). But ultimately, the lack of transparency and respect for my time was incredibly disheartening.
