I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Whole Foods Market in May 2013
Interview
I had always wanted to work for Whole Foods as I was at the time working from Kroger. I met a woman that worked for Wholefoods and she told me wonderful things about the company. I asked her if they were hiring and she told me that they were and we exchanged numbers. I followed up with her and I eventually applied to the company. About 2 weeks later I got a call from the customer service manager and I was scheduled for an interview. My initial interview and my second interview were about a month apart.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
My initial interview was with a woman. My second interview was with a different woman and a man at two separate times within the same day. The biggest thing that impressed them about me was my smile. They really like positive and happy people who leave their problems at the door. A question that I stumbled with was 'What were 3 of my weaknesses and 3 of my strengths' . Overall it was a good straight-forward interview that was very simple. They also like if you tell them about your positive eating habits.
I applied online. I interviewed at Whole Foods Market (Torrance, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very easy process. One of the better experiences I’ve had. A few standard interview questions were ask, but the rest was conversational for most part. Wasn’t stressful or anything like that.

Interview
A simple process of an initial screening over the phone with basic questions such as "when you can start" and "how do you plan on getting to and from work" and then meeting the supervisor in person to be interviewed with standard customer service role questions.

This interview was a very streamlined, efficient process. It was a typical behavioral style interview asking about reactions from various scenarios. The interviewer was very professional and respectful of my time and it didn't take more than 20 minutes.
