      Front Desk Agent Interview

      12 Sept 2017

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at White Lodging (Austin, TX) in Nov 2013

      Interview

I was brought into the hotel and was asked questions about customer service. It was very based on making sure the customer was happy. I had to do a drug test within 24 hours after the interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you deal with a very angry customer that won't take no for an answer?

      Front Desk Agent Interview

      28 Aug 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Bloomington, IN
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at White Lodging (Bloomington, IN) in Mar 2017

      Interview

Very casual, sat at a table, went over resume, why I would be good for the job, etc. I spoke with two hotel managers. Normally after this initial interview, a White Lodging recruiter or HR person will also interview, but I did not have to go through this second step. Because a hospitality job is essentially all about communicating verbally and nonverbally with guests, the interview is basically a test of how well you present yourself, speak to others, listen, etc.

      Front Desk Agent Interview

      28 Feb 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at White Lodging (Houston, TX)

      Interview

I went in for the front desk agent job even though I wanted a night auditor job. I had no experience but the hotel was brand new and they were training from the ground up, so I got offered the night audit job. There was one face to face interview, then a follow up phone call and finally a final face to face in which they offered me the job. It probably took a week or two total. My process was a little different than normal simply because it was for a new build.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I'll be honest, it was a long time ago and I don't remember the specific questions. Mostly it involved my customer service experience. A lot of the interview was mostly about trying to see how friendly I was. The only thing I remember about the follow up call was that they asked me one basic math question. By basic I mean it was literally something like what is 5 plus 8.

      Interview

Fast and easy! Received an interview email and get hired right after chatting with the department manager. Led to the HR and signed paperwork after the interview. I told them I can only start after 1 month period since I need to move to Indianapolis from Bloomington, and they are very flexible about it.
