The initial process was a phone call, super basic questions. "Why do you want to work here?" "How familiar are you with these programs?" "What separates you from other candidates?"
After passing, I went on to the final interview via Zoom Meeting. The interviewers were professional and welcoming, however the interview was a different story if I can even call it an interview. Right from the start, the interviewers did not seemed interested. They seemed tired, low energy, and didn't take notes. They had bad mics so I could barely hear them, and they only asked one question throughout the entire interview. I asked them directly if they were going to ask about my experience and skills in my resume. They briefly glanced at my resume and said, "No, I think we're good" and then proceeded to talk about their company and ended with "Do you have any questions for us?"
Overall assessment/observation: They already had their candidates and didn't bother with me. Mundane atmosphere, nothing unique except the company name. They value work experience rather than academic experience, (yes even for internships).
I applied to this internship as a sort of joke as I recently graduated with a Bachelor's in Engineering. Even that wasn't enough to gain their attention. I tried reaching out to other imagineers via Linkedin, none responded. I tried emailing Disney if I could speak to someone and ask for an interview prep, they responded by sending me a pdf file with "How to Prepare for an Interview" and "Using the STAR method". I usually would move on but this type of behavior should be called out for how low-effort it was.
