I was sourced by a Recruiter and had an an initial 45 minute call. Was a little turned off because we set up time, and then 10 minutes after our scheduled time, I still had not received a call. I sent a message to the recruiter and she then gave me a call right after. She apologized for being late. It happens. But then immediately after we connected she asked me to tell me about myself, which makes sense in the context of a normal interview, but she had reached out to me on LinkedIn and I was a passive candidate, so before telling me anything about the company or the role, she asked me to tell her about my experience. First red flag. When the recruiter told me about the role later on in the call, I was excited, so I was able to overlook the wonky experience up to that point. Then she said it would take a week or two for the company to get back to me.. which seems like a while, especially in this market. Again, I was ok with it because it seemed like a good opportunity and I was not actively looking to leave my role. Two weeks later, I sent a message to the Recruiter and asked if she had an update on my candidacy. She said the hiring manager was still reviewing my profile and would get back to me, no later, she assured, by the beginning of the following week. One month later and I still haven't heard a thing. I get sometimes candidates aren't a great fit. I also get that sometimes candidates slip through the cracks and you forget to follow up. But I reached out to her, and I was a candidate she sourced, yet, she still ghosted me. Was a complete waste of time and I have a very negative view of the company now. I don't usually write reviews like this but it was that bad of an experience for me.
