Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (Burbank, CA)
Interview
I had three interviews: One screening phone-interview with a recruiter, another phone-interview with the manager of the team I would work with, and a third in-person interview with two people from my department-to-be. The phone interviews were basic questions: why do you want the job, relevant experience, etc. The in-person interview was very casual at the coffee shop on the studio lot. The questions were a little more interesting, with them wanting more examples of specific instances that could relate to the job and sussing out what I knew about the company. Overall very straightforward, just do your research about the company and all of its different holdings before you get there, and don't overdo the "I love Disney" fanaticism, because they get that A LOT.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The most unexpected question was: What is your dream job? It was unexpected because this interview was for what I thought was a short-term consulting position, so that seemed like an odd question, but they wanted to see if you were intent on staying within the entertainment world.
3-4 stages of Long process. HR takes awhile to get back. No assessment or anything test before interviews. First round interview with people in the team, then managers, and then VP director.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2021
Interview
It was a 3 round interview.
1st interview asked about my related experiences and how I would be a fit for the company. It was a very general and get to know each other type interview.
2nd interview was with the decision maker which asked more about having virtual desktop experience, Again they are just trying to get to know you more.
3rd interview felt like they were testing for culture fit and getting to know each other.
Overall, the interviews were relatively simple, nothing demanding and very easy going. I did not have everything they were looking for but I expressed that I can learn and get the job done. I think the relative easiness depends heavily on which team you interview for since Disney has many locations world wide.
