I applied online. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (New York, NY) in Feb 2019
Interview
One of the worst interview experiences I've had. It was a video call and the interviewer began by asking irrelevant rapid fire Java questions. Moved on to coderpad interview which involved converting integer to binary representation in string form, check if binary tree is balanced, inorder traversal of binary tree. At one point during the coding part, I saw the interviewer falling asleep. I was shocked. Also recruiter made it clear up front they can not even match the market average in NYC. Stay away
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Difference between String Builder and String Buffer, describe observer pattern, explain what a string pool is, convert integer to binary representation in string form, check if binary tree is balanced, inorder traversal of binary tree.

Interview
HR phone call then behavioral with team lead. Had 1 leetcode question after and a culture fit interview after. It was very straightforward and they were very communicative about what the job.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2026
Interview
Coding interview was actually very chill: could use any language to solve 2 problems. Mostly just talked through ideas, no coderpad or similar software. Both problems were fairly similar, involving looping an array and transforming it, avoiding repetition or inefficiency.

Interview
This was honestly such a fast and great interview experience.
I had an initial screening (video interview) with the recruiter, then a video interview with my hiring manager, an in-person technical interview at the office, and a final video interview with the director of engineering. Overall, everyone was very kind and there weren't any "gotcha" questions during the technical interview. They asked questions that were relevant to what I would be doing and they were also understanding that I might have not known everything.
I applied in February and completed all of the interviews in 3-4 weeks and I moved very quickly early in the process, so the wait to hear back was long about another 3-4 weeks.
And I got the offer! My recruiter advocated a ton for me and Im super excited to join my team.
