I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Walmart in Jan 2021
Interview
The interview started off on a good note, with all the basic ML questions which I answered .
The behavioral round was probably the most weird one!
The person started off by taking about my experience and then followed up with the most weird technical question, Yes one technical question and it appeared to me that they didn't really know anything about it but kept asking the same question over and over again and expected me to talk about the exact same thing they were thinking about.
When it was my turn to ask questions, the person's answers gave me the impression that it wasn't very well structured and I started loosing interest in the position. The rest of the interviews went well/okay.
No reply from the recruiting team, guess I was ghosted.
After this interview, I started
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can't disclose too much- on an NDA
- Basic ML Questions
- Leetcode medium
It was not that bad, 3 initial rounds overall okay, it would have been nice if they added some more depth in questions and asked good questions.
and it would have been great if they call or tell something before interview.
terrible Data Scientist role interview process, took 3 months and got rejected after final interview where the interviewer didn't have my resume and asked something else which the recruiter did not mention to prepare
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Bentonville, AR) in Mar 2026
Interview
A recruiter phone call and then a coding round. SQL medium + predictive modeling. I think the modeling task could be a take-home assignment. However, the test was closed before the promised time. It was a 89-minute test.
